Take Time To Rest!

Hello!  Hello!  Hello!  Like many of you I am wondering why time moves so very quickly.  We celebrated my Grandson's fifth birthday!  Two glorious days at LEGOLAND was where he chose to celebrate.  Seems like he hasn't been on earth for five glorious years. And now he is old enough to sit in my workshop and pretend to be me.

Yes, I know I am also moving slower since my 65th birthday a few months ago. Most times I am retracing my steps to find something that was never lost.  Or, repeating a conversation that was already told.  "Did I tell you this already?" takes up more time than you can imagine.  LOL.

Halloween is celebrated today by many, but my house will be dark to deter the trick or treaters.  Tomorrow is the beginning of National Diabetes Month and as a diabetic, I decided this year not to eat leftover snicker bars, baby ruths, chocolate bars, suckers.....They are all soooo delicious especially the sweet ones below.  Just one of my weaknesses.
Love these!

October is Breast Cancer month, therefore I took time to talk to survivers like me and the newly diagnosed. I wrote letters for "Girls Love Mail" for encouragement.  Please take a look at the website www.girlslovemail.com if you want to hand write encouraging letters too.  As a 14 year survivor, ladies I ask that you please take time to do your self exams and schedule your mammograms when due.

In my spare time I experimented with minis to create some new designs, organized my workshop,  purchased new fabric and caught up on some blog reading. I also took some time to rest.
Minis I've created.

"Then God blessed the seventh day and made it holy, because on it he rested from all the work of creating that he had done." Genesis 2:3 NIV

Thank you for stopping by to read this post without a give-a-way in progress.  Thank you for following.

Hugs, Love, Kisses and Prayers to all!

Winners for August!

Yippie ki-yay! I finally found a way to announce the winners.  Thank you for patiently waiting.

 Congratulations to our two winners!

It has been a struggle for me to go through the motions to collect pictures, grandson (Mark J) and all other things that happen when grief is present.  I'm still making minis to help me through this time in my life and will continue my give a ways.

Friends, thank you so much for all of your encouraging comments.  Printing them and reading them during my "low" days really helped a lot.  Thank you to all new followers.

Do you know that grief can stop a peron in their tracks for a long time and sometimes forever? I almost forgot how to blog!

Trusting in God is a great source of help, but when your heart is bleeding don't be afraid to ask for more help because pain can be gruesome... Don't ever feel like you have to go through it alone, even if you have to call on me.  I'm here for you.

Summer is passing quickly like never before.  My inspirational grandson, Mark J got a passport and took off to Cabo San Lucas for vacation after summer school and didn't pull the winner's comments from the "lucky hat" until a fews days ago and afterwards he had to have a picture wearing the hat.

Winning comment #1 for dress on left side of photo from Isabel (morgana135):
Hola Felma, me siento muy triste al leer su post, siento mucho sus perdidas, seguro que su hermana estara leyendo la revista muy contenta y feliz... otras dos estrellas han subido al cielo! animos, me encantaria participar en su sorteo, lo pongo en mi blog, un beso muy fuerte.

Winning comment #2 for dress on right side of photo from Malu:

Besos de las Malu´s.

My translator is not working at the moment, but if one of these comments belong to you, please contact me privately with mailing information.

Lots of Hugs to All!

A Give Away Is Here! Thank You For Your Patience During My Time Of Grief!

"knotty" Ends August 7, 2014
Cute purse matches dress.
My dear friends, another Give Away is here.  Thank you for your patience, prayers and love during my time of grief and my absence from Blogging.  The sudden death of my sister went straight to my heart and paralyzed me with grief.

My last post I shared with you the sudden death of my husband's brother. A month later my dear sister "Sis" didn't wake up in the morning.  She was excited and looking forward to receiving her copy of American Miniaturist magazine's June Issue to see what I had made.  She went to Heaven the day I mailed her the magazine.

The first picture at top of page was taken from June 2014 issue of American Miniaturist Magazine.  It is a great magazine and has a great Editor, Auralea Krieger, who does a wonderful job!  Thank you Auralea.  The magazine has talented artists and lots of projects for you to enjoy.
Dresses above are just lovely.  Picture taken before sending dresses to the magazine.
The next give away is to offer one of my 302 followers a chance to win a dress because I feel honored to have you following my blog.
"Hearts To You" Give Away August 7, 2014
To enter to win one of these lovely dresses, all you have to do is be a follower of my blog, leave an inspirational comment on this post only by the deadline of August 7, 2014 before 3:00PM Pacific Daylight Savings Time.  The lucky winner's comment will be drawn from my lucky hat and will be posted the following week.  Good Luck!

As always, welcome new followers and to all my followers my heart is always open and I love to hear from you by e-mail and comments for sure!

I love giving and your comments encourage me to cheerfully give what is in my heart and this means also that if you have nothing in your heart to give, that is ok too.

"Each of you should give what you have decided in your heart to give, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver."  2 Corinthians 9:7 NIV
I am a cheerful giver!

Hugs and love to all,

Dollhouse Miniatures by Felma

Lots of "things" have happened in my life since I last blogged.  April started off with a bang of a birthday celebration and I celebrated for 2 to 3 weeks.

The rest of the month was filled grief for my husband because of the sudden death of his brother.  We traveled about 3700 miles by car to be with family and friends and pay our last respects.

Hope all mothers out there had a Happy Mother's Day.  I had one the best I've ever had with family.

All the pictures on this page are miniatures I made during my absence from blogging.  There are more.  Some are sold.  Some may be shown in American Miniaturist June issue.

Thank you for following.  The next give aways will be soon.  I really need to catch up on my rest.

Welcome to all new followers!

Hugs,
Felma

Spring Time! March Winners Announced!

LOOKS LIKE SUNSHINE AND RAIN!

Lots of things were happening last week in addition to pulling the name of the winners on Tuesday.  Spring sprung.  Joyce Bernard, The Trunk Lady came and spent the day with me.  We had a great time at lunch talking minis.  I stomped my toe the very next day and my foot is still very painful!!!   I also met some critical deadlines.

5.1 earthquate centered in a town not faraway on Friday night and a huge aftershock Saturday evening and lots of little aftershocks in between.  As a matter of fact I can feel the earth moving under me now.  The house is slighty swaying with a few crackle and pops frequently, but I am so determined to finish this post tonight and announce the March winners.  I do fear for my fragile minis though.

I'm not too happy about not having pictures on this post.  Will post April Giveaway when I feel better.  My birthday is next week so it will probably be after the celebration.  Sixty five and alive!  Rain is forecasted on my birthday and I'll be singing in the rain!

Winners For March!
Steinworks  Eva -tatalamaru
Francesca

Congratulations to our three winners!  Winners, please contact me with shipping details.  Thanks for your comments.  You know I love comments because they keep me blogging.

Thanks to all for your wonderful comments.  A warm welcome to  new followers.  It is really a great pleasure to reach a total of 300
followers!  Don't you think this milestone of 300 followers deserves a giveaway?  Please let me know.  My sincere thanks!

tutorial in these 3 issues!
Can you believe it my dear friends?  We have a February winner and March is tomorrow.  Where did the time go?  Have I squandered it?

Hope everyone is all well and finished with this Season's cold and flu.  My heart and prayers go out to those of you who are having a difficult time with the unusual weather we are experiencing in many parts of the world.  Yes, there are other issues much worse than the weather, but discussing it would surely produce another Blog.  No time for another blog because I need to finish my book I've been working on for the last 30 something years.

Speaking of books, there is a possibly that some of my brand new designed Wedding Gowns along with accessories will be shown in the June 2014 issue of American Miniaturist Magazine.  Jared and Mark J (you know who they are) have been busy creating new designs and it will be a real treasure to showcase them in American Miniaturist Magazine.  And if you are not already a subscriber, contact American Miniaturist Magazine and subscribe in time for the June issue.

"I'm gonna try my luck with this so.. I would love to enter your beautiful draw - hope you'll count me in..Wish you all the best(^^)
 MiniHugs, Irina"

There will be at least 3 give aways for March.  1.  Three American Miniaturist Magazines:  Issues 5, 7 and 10.  These three were chosen because they are packed with great Artists from some of the first issues and have lots of great articles for you to read and pictures to look at along with tutorials that are easy and fun!  If you are featured in one of these magazines, please leave a comment and let us know if you have a blog for us to read.

2.  A porcelain mannequin that is not dressed so that you can dress it your way and share it with us on your blog.

 3.  Another mannequin with a different figure!

For those of you following my blog or going to start following before the deadline, all you have to do for a chance to win one of these prizes is leave an inspirational comment on this post only by the deadline of Midnight March 18, 2014 Pacific Daylight Time. Give Away! February 2014

Hello Blog Friends.  First of all I messed up on this post and deleted the previous post by mistake, but the comments are still here from the previous post.  I'll keep them that way and if you want to leave another comment, please do so.  Thank you kindly.

My wish is that each of you are already back into the swing of making mini things.  It is great to be back with my dress give aways.  It feels like home again!  Thank you.

My grandsons are really appreciative of God giving us a New Year and they are enjoying themselves to the fullest.  We've already been to a Train Show this year and they took a ride on Amtrak to a fun nearby city and spent the weekend at a fabulous hotel!  My four year old just started a new school and he thinks he is so very smart.  He asked, "Daddy, are you going to pick up pizza tonight?"  Daddy answered, "Possibly." "Well, Dad is that a yes or no?"

Wonderful creative ideas are sometimes hard to come by so I am changing the mannequin for this giveaway to a different style.  Hope you like it!

For those of you following my blog, all you have to do is leave an inspirational comment on this post only by the deadline to enter the drawing for  5 1/4 inch tall dressed mannequin in the above picture.  Your name will be put in my lucky hat and drawn by my grandson.  Winner announced the following week.  Let's have some fun!  Please keep checking back to take another look because I am feeling great right now and may "possibly" add another give away.

Tuesday, February 18, 2014 at  3:00PM Pacific Daylight Time

A nice warm welcome to all new followers.  Thank you so much for your comments and your taking the time to stop by my blog and say,

Merry Christmas! November Winner!

Blog Friends I wish you all a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.  Thank you for your comments for the November draw!  So many things have happened since I last posted until it seems as though I posted just yesterday.  This Thanksgiving was one of the best I've ever had with family and friends and of course, food.  Yum Yum!

My six year old grandson turned seven, my favorite daughter and husband are celebrating birthdays too.  Yes, regardless of my statement in a previous post, I've been BUSY!  But, I must confess I was not Being Under Satan's Yolk!  Most of my "busy" was for really great stuff and goodwill to most.  Since I believe that Jesus is the reason for the season we always put up a huge sign next to the Christmas tree that reads,
"Jesus Is The Reason For The Season."
This sign helps to remind us what we are really celebrating.

Drum Roll Please for our November Winner!
My grandson picked a winner that wrote the following comment:

"I am not sure what type of motivational comment is required, but I will say that I am inspired and in awe of your talent and your courage.  Your work seems effortless!  Yet, I know creating miniature outfits as meticulous as yours takes a lot of hard work.  My motivational comment is, find something you love to do that is outside of work, outside of caring for loved ones, and outside of any duty or obligation.  Whether it is creating miniatures, or collecting vintage dollhouses or painting or swimming, spend at least one hour a week doing it.  One small hour will make a huge difference in the rest of your week."

The comment written by Neen (please click on her name to view her interesting blog.) was a joy to read as all comments are.  Congratulations Neen!

November is the last giveaway of the year.  Hope to start giveaways again in February.  Please don't be alarmed, I am doing fine.  Just keep checking back if you have time and leave a comment so that I know you care.

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!

Hugs, Love & Prayer,
Felma

Autumn Colors For Thanksgiving Month!

Colorful November 2013 Give Away
Have you ever posted on your blog and as you were posting you got the happy feeling that you love posting and you are going to post three times a week for the rest of your life to say in touch with your wonderful followers?   Well, that happens to me each time I post.  But, real life gets to be so interesting as I participate  in the joys of day to day activities.

For instance, my four year old grandson just came back from the toy store with Grand Papa with this getup.  He then limbed on the back of my chair and declared that he is a Ninja Turtle ready to  save the world.  From Grandma?
Ninja Turtle Obsessed
I really missed a lot while I was ill and catching up, except for the house cleaning, is so much fun.  Just gazing at the beauty of Autumn leaves with a view of tall mountains with gray and white clouds hanging over them encourages me to make a joyful noise.   Although, I must say that I haven't gone mountain climbing but only once since I had my incident with The Boulder.

This month, my blog friends, for November Give Away, I offer to you this very colorful beautiful dressed mannequin, accompanied by shawl/wrap in the same color trimmed with faux fur.  I don't know why my little voice in insisted on making a blue purse as an accent,  but let's go with it anyway.  Personally, I think it looks really cute.
Resist the cold with this warm wrap.

Thanks again to all of you for leaving your wonderful comments.  I read each of them with passion over and over again.  Thank you for praying for me and one another.  Coping with adversity is usually difficult and adversity is going to touch most of us at some point  but, we just need to roll with it and try to stay sane during the ride and at the end, kiss the "ground."  If you believe in God, please thank Him too.

Welcome to all new followers.  It makes me smile when I see the number of friends increase and also makes me work harder and happier to bring you the best I can of what I do.  Thank you for following.

In order to enter the draw for the November give away:
              1.  Leave a movitvational comment on this post only.
              2.  Be a follower of my blog.
              3.  Enter by the deadline.
Deadline is Saturday, November 30, 2013 at 11:59 PM Pacific Daylight Savings Time.  Winner will be posted the following week.

Keeping with the Autumn color scene, this is really a beautiful dress.  The silk velvet is hand dyed by the lovely ladies at Vegas Airs from Las Vegas, Nevada.  They do wonders to silk fabrics that work well with miniature creations.  I discovered them at a local miniature show.  Some of my work can be viewed on their website.

Some of my inspirational fabrics from VegasAirs.

Please check back for the December Give Away coming soon.

HAPPY THANKSGIVING!

October Winner 2013 Winner!

Hello to my favorite Blog friends!  We have a winner for October and her name is Ilona!  Roberta, a friend of Ilona is a very shy birdie elf.  She is a couple of  hundred years old and currently lives in The Netherlands and helps out in the house of a very old man.  Although camera shy, she is brave enough to announce into her little microphone the winning comment.   If you listen closely you may be able to hear her.  If not, here it is in writing:

"Felma, your Halloween scene is beautiful. Your Halloween give away is soooo colorful, I really love bright colors and your dress is gorgeous. The painting of your daughter is wonderful, it fits good in this scene, thank you for sharing.

I would love to participate in your generous give away, so please, count me in. I'll put the link on my blog.
I wish you a good October month :D!
Hugs, Ilona"

Thank you Roberta! You did a great job of announcing.  Please don't be shy.  Let's all give Roberta a big hand of applause.

Speaking of the next winner, November giveaway is coming soon and I need to finish it before November ends!  October was so much fun celebrating Birthdays including my youngest grandson's which was the most fun of all.  Also, we were fortunate enough to have him stay with us for a few days while his parents were out of town.  Where did October go?  Does anyone know?

My health is great and I am very happy to be healed and there are so many minis in my life that I can't stop going.   Going through my stash, making minis for eBay,  playing with my grandsons and the good fortunes of every day life.  Thank you God for your healing.  Thank you friends for your prayers.

Hope to see you soon for the Novermber give away.  Please keep the comments coming.  You know I love comments so lets give Ilona a congratulations on her win.

Happy Thanksgiving Month!  We have a lot to be Thankful for.   At the top of my list is that My Favorite Daughter is alive after last week when someone opened fire and fatally shot one person and wounded several others at her place of employement.  I pray along with you that this world becomes a better place for all.

Hugs, Prayers and Love,
Felma

Drum Roll Please For July 2013 Winner

Beautiful Beach Scene by Chris at Cape Cod.  Empty chair reserved for me.

Chris P's Minis And More  Congratulations to the winner of the Christmas in July dress.  Chris has a beautiful blog.  Her lovely  scenes reveal that she is a true miniature artist who loves her work and loves to share.  Please visit her blogspot by clicking on the link above.
Why not travel during the summer months.  Now we are on a beach in Florida.
Thank you Chris for entering the draw and by leaving your uplifting comment.  My three year old pulled your name out of the hat and tried to read it but he can't read yet.  I am always excited to see who the winner is!  Thanks to all of you who entered.  As usual I wish everyone could win.
I feel like working again.  I just made this lovely dress for eBay.

Welcome to all new followers and as always thanks to all of you for reading my blog and becoming a follower.

Your prayers have helped my healing and I say THANK YOU!  This crazy pain has been so much better over the last few days after asking God to heal me.  He has done it before and I know He healed me again.  I believe a mere human body cannot go from 0-85% pain free within a few minuates without devine healing.  He did it for me and He will do it for you.  Please e-mail me privately with your request for prayers or questions regarding God and healing.

I praise God that He brought me back from a mighty scary place.

Going To Fight For My Life! August Give Away!

Thank you for your wonderful prayers.
It was a horribly dark place that I went to after my doctor's news that this new pain could be several things including cancer, kidney failure, rheumatoid arthritis, my immune system  attacking itself, etc. etc. etc.

Did I think about God after this news?  No!  I freaked out!  I freaked out because for 13 years I've fought with all my heart, mind, soul and body and welcomed any news that was afflicting to show that I could keep my head up, keep the faith and fight cancer! Tons of pain resulting from a teeny weeny cancer.  Every joint, ligament, muscle and everything else in my body has enjoyed it's months and years in the spotlight of pain.  Now it is oveerrrrr!  I need to get back to my miniatures.
August Give Away is a lovely Dressed Mannequin
When I turned 64 a few months ago, it seems as though all those bones and muscles, etc... got together and said, "Let's have an old folk party and Celebrate!  Arthur, will you lead the Celebration please?." They planned their celebration without even thinking about what affect it would have on me, my family and friends.  Call the police!  Whatever!  Just stop the party.  I called on God instead and this week I am so much better.  Thank you
God.  Thank you very much.

Thank you too for your prayers.  You know that Satan or better known as the 'Devil' will try to keep us very busy to make us do some crazy things.  Such as thinking about closing a Blog that really makes me happy, or pouring my heart out to you to join my pity party.  Or clouding my Spirit so I couldn't see God when the storms of life were raging last week.  I'm so happy that I had the sense to come to my senses.

Someone cleaver even came up with this:

B U S Y  stands for Being Under Satan's Yoke

Well, according to my favorite daughter and son, the mother and father of my favorite grandsons, I really need to go back and read my own Blog posts which are meant to be very encouraging and a great testimony of my faith in what God has done for me including life changing Miracles.  They told me to start with my "About Me" page.  I did.  I couldn't believe it was me writing about how I started my Blog with my "Journey to come out of the closet and celebrate life after breast cancer."  Somewhere along my journey I guess I got a little BUSY!

He replied, "Because you have so little faith, I tell you the truth, if you have faith as small as a mustard seed, you can say to this mountain, 'Move from here to there' and it will move.  Nothing will be impossible for you."  Matthew 17:20 NIV  Please click on the link and read the entire context of this Scripture.  It may help refresh your memory too if you are getting a little busy.

One of my favorite Scriptures:  I have hidden your word in my heart so that I may not sin against you.  Psalm 119:11 Niv  Somewhere along my journey when I was a little BUSY maybe Satan gave one of his little helpers an eraser because how could I ever forget this Scripture that has helped sustain me since my awful bout with cancer:  They that wait on the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; they shall walk, and not be faint.  Isaiah 40:31.  OK, so I felt a little faint. Forgive me.  I guess that is why my favorite daughter and son gave me the shirt I have on in the picture that reads, "Forgiven."  None of us are free from sin, but we must know why Jesus died on the cross to pay our sin debt in full.  All we have to do is pray and not let the devil in to steal our joy.

Today's verse of the day on Bible Gateway's website gives this example of  faith in action:

Now faith is confidence in what we hope for and assurance about what we do not see.  Hebrews 11:1 NIV

Today after starting this post I received my doctor's report (my husband went and got it):  Tests, including X-Rays are all within the normal range!   Further testing will be scheduled.  Thank you Lord God!  Oh sure, I still have pain and I am ready and looking forward to what God has in store for me. No matter what.  I still believe in Miracles.

August Give Away is early, but my heart is full and I need to give something away and I am not fishing for comments.  I love comments but my fishing days are over.

Speaking of fishing; My six year old grandson went fishing for the first time.  He hooked a foot long bass.  Child against fish!  He finally brought the fish in and landed it on the ground and when the  fish started flapping about my grandson took off running like crazy.  Although he knows God, I think he freaked out.  But, when he had time to think about God and faith, the fishermen were able to coax him back to take a picture.  What the heck.  My grandson, a born vegeterian, probably insisted on sending the fish back to where it came from.  Oh my goodness!  A new lesson;  Next time pain scares me into running like crazy I am going to send it back where it came from too.  Hallelujah!

I want to thank all of you for joining and following my blog.  Welcome to all new followers.

This little grandson with Grandma's sunglasses on insists on taking the easy ride and doesn't want to go down to the lake to fish.  The only bear he wants to see is in his lap.

To win the dress for August:  Be a follower of my Blog.  Leave an inspirational comment on this post only by 3:00 PM Pacific Standard Time on Monday, August 26, 2013.  Winner will be drawn  from lucky hat by grandson in the above picture and announced the following week.  Who knows?  My heart may get full again and  want to host another give away like the one in the picture below won by Marisa  from last month for being the first to identify the winning comment:
